TikTok Monetization: Requirements and What's Available in Ukraine

TikTok monetization is several different ways to earn: platform payouts for views, gifts during live streams, subscriptions, sales and advertising. The main question for Ukrainian creators is which of these are actually available. We go over the programs, their requirements at the time of writing (October 2026) and say honestly what works in Ukraine and what doesn't.
What monetization programs TikTok has
TikTok constantly renames and updates its programs, so the names may differ from the ones you saw a few years ago. Today the main ones are:
- Creator Rewards Program: payouts for qualified views of longer original videos. This slot was once held by the Creator Fund, then the Creativity Program Beta.
- LIVE gifts: viewers buy virtual gifts and send them to the creator during a stream; the creator can withdraw part of their value.
- Subscriptions: a paid monthly subscription to a creator with perks for subscribers.
- TikTok Shop and affiliate programs: selling products through videos and streams for a commission.
- Ads and brand deals: both through TikTok's official creator marketplace and directly.
The list of tools available to you specifically is shown in the app: profile → ☰ menu → TikTok Studio → the monetization section. If a program isn't there, it is not available in your region or for your account.
Creator Rewards Program requirements
According to the data at the time of writing, to join you need:
- to be 18 or older;
- at least 10,000 followers;
- at least 100,000 video views in the last 30 days;
- a personal account (not a business account) in good standing, without serious violations;
- to be located in a country where the program operates.
Not all views are paid. A video must be original and longer than one minute, and mostly views from recommendations ("For You") count. Reposts, cuts of other people's content and videos with watermarks from other platforms earn no payouts.
Does TikTok monetization work in Ukraine
Let's be direct: the Creator Rewards Program is not available in Ukraine at the time of writing. Ukraine is not on the list of countries where the program operates; it has been launched only in a limited number of markets (the US, the UK, Germany, France, Japan, South Korea, Brazil and some others; the list changes). So TikTok does not pay Ukrainian creators directly for views, no matter how many followers they have.
TikTok Shop does not work in Ukraine either, as far as we know.
LIVE gifts and subscriptions are a less clear-cut question. Availability of these features depends on region, age and account standing, and TikTok doesn't publish a full list of countries. Some Ukrainian creators report having access to gifts in streams, but there is no officially confirmed information. The most reliable way is to check the monetization section in your TikTok Studio.
Why you shouldn't "bypass" restrictions
Online advice suggests registering an account in another country, using a VPN or someone else's SIM card. This violates TikTok's rules: such an account may lose monetization, have payouts frozen or get banned. Besides, withdrawing money requires documents and payment details that must match the account's country. The risk of losing both the money and the audience is far greater than the possible earnings.
How to earn on TikTok from Ukraine
Even without platform payouts, TikTok remains a powerful source of audience. Ukrainian creators usually monetize it like this:
- Brand advertising. Ukrainian companies actively buy TikTok integrations. What matters here is not only followers but also steady views, engagement and a clear topic.
- Your own products and services. Courses, consultations, goods, services: TikTok brings clients, and the sale happens on a website, in Instagram or Telegram.
- Moving your audience to other platforms. A Telegram channel, YouTube (where monetization is available for Ukraine) or Instagram. The link in your profile becomes the gateway to your main income.
- Affiliate programs of third-party services and stores: links in your profile or in Telegram.
- LIVE, if gifts are available for your account.
How to grow to the monetization requirements
Even if Creator Rewards isn't available to you, the threshold numbers (10,000 followers and 100,000 views a month) are a good benchmark. With an audience like that, you can already talk to advertisers.
1. Pick a niche and stick to it
The algorithm finds your audience faster when all your videos are about one thing. An "about everything" account grows more slowly.
2. The first 2–3 seconds decide everything
Viewers scroll the feed instantly. Start with the point, a question or an unexpected shot, with no long intros.
3. Make videos longer than a minute, but without filler
For Creator Rewards, length is a mandatory condition, but for regular recommendations it also matters that videos are watched to the end. A long video without pace will lose viewers halfway.
4. Post regularly
A steady schedule of several videos a week gives the algorithm more chances to find "your" video that takes off. More on the mechanics in the article how to get on the TikTok For You page.
5. Work with trends, but in your own way
A trending sound or format gives a push, but an original take is what sets you apart from hundreds of identical videos.
6. Reply to comments with videos
A video reply to a comment is an easy way to get new content and show that the creator is engaged.
7. Help your account get through the start
A new account with zero followers and empty videos looks unconvincing, both to viewers and to brands. Many creators add TikTok followers, views and likes at the start so the profile looks alive. At InstaHub this is done without a password, using only a link, with gradual speed and options with a refill guarantee.
Honestly about the limits: this kind of help creates a starting look and social proof, but it does not make you eligible for monetization and does not replace content. TikTok checks video originality and view quality, and advertisers look at real engagement. Keep natural proportions and combine this with regular content. How to build your first audience is covered in the article first 1,000 followers on TikTok.
Summary
- Payouts for views on TikTok (Creator Rewards) require 18+, 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in 30 days, but the program is not available in Ukraine at the time of writing.
- TikTok Shop doesn't work in Ukraine; check the availability of LIVE gifts and subscriptions in your TikTok Studio.
- Real ways for a Ukrainian creator to earn are advertising, your own products and moving your audience to platforms with monetization.
- Don't bypass regional restrictions with a VPN or foreign SIM cards: it risks a ban.
